Before you leave
You can arrive in Australia on any date after your student visa is granted.
It is recommended that you arrive in Australia at least ten days before your course start date. This will give you time to overcome jet lag, find accommodation and become familiar with the city in which you will be studying.
International students can usually not work until their course start date. However, as a temporary measure due to Covid, international students are now allowed to start work before their course start date. (Please check with PTA to confirm this is current when you arrive).
You should also arrange accommodation before you arrive in Australia, even if it is just for the first few days.
