What are the costs an employer must pay to sponsor your visa?
This video highlights some of the costs for an Employer to Sponsor your visa to Australia.
When we say sponsor, we are referring to the most common sponsorship. The TSS visa (Subclass 482 visa). There are other sponsorships such as the (186 and 494), which are slightly more expensive.
There are 3 steps involved in applying for the TSS Visa.
The company would be required to lodge: The costs are the direct costs for the visa application paid directly to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
1 Standard Business Sponsorship (must be paid by the company)
- $420
2. Nomination (must be paid by the company)
- $330
- Skill Australia Levy (per year) (must be paid by the company)
$1,200 per year for companies with a turnover of less than $10 million or $1,800 per with if the company turnover is above $10 million.
3. The visa Application (this would be lodged & paid for by yourself)
- $2770 per person for occupations on the MLTSSL
- $1330 for occupations on the STSOL
Example:
- The company in not a standard business sponsor
- The company wants to take you on a 2 year visa
- The company’s turnover is under $10 million a year.
Cost is: $420 + $330 + $1200 x2 = $3150 in government fees alone. (Plus own visa application) (Plus migration agent fees)
